A misting system is really "Outdoor Air Conditioning". It works because we use a pump & motor unit to build water pressure up to 1000 pounds of pressure per square inch. On average, a garden hose puts out about 60 psi. Our unit puts out about twenty times as much high pressure, converting water to a fine mist that evaporates almost instantly as it hits hot air, creating a "Flash Evaporation", that removes the heat from the air as water absorbs the energy it needs to evaporate. The air is cooled immediately, no water or mist remain, so "you get cool not wet". This system has worked successfully since the eighties.
